Wrestlingworth Goodwill Fund

Registered Charity No 1035463

We would like to welcome you to the village and hope that you will enjoy living here.

The Goodwill Fund is a local charity established in 1963 to support people in Wrestlingworth Cockayne Hatley, Eyeworth and Tadlow.

Initially the fund provided a Christmas party and hampers for the local pensioners and raised money by holding an annual flower and produce show at the Chequers.

Since then, we have added to our fundraising through a range of events throughout the year. These include: Biennial Auction in April, plant sale in May,  Salmon Lunch in June, International Evening in July, the Show and sale in September, and the quiz in October, raising over £3000 in total.

The Fund still supports the over 65s at Christmas, with a hamper and a Spring afternoon tea party, but now also provides support to many people throughout the year, especially with arranging lifts to Hospital and the Doctors for anyone without their own transport. If you find that you need to use this service, please contact Margaret Pantry in 631548, giving as much notice as possible.

We are very grateful to our volunteer drivers who are essential to this service. If you would like to help, please contact our chairman Mick Andrews m552andrews@btinternet.com.
Fuel expenses are paid to drivers for all trips.

We also try to lend a little cheer by sending a gift to anybody who has been in hospital, and to anybody who is celebrating the birth of a baby. Please let us know if we should send a gift to someone living near to you.

We are also very grateful to the “Friends of the Goodwill” who help out at the many events we run over the year, especially the Show and Sale, helping to set up and run the stalls and the pensioners’ tea party, where the many hands make light work of serving and washing up. If you feel you could lend a hand in any way as a Friend of the Goodwill, again do please contact Mick

We hope to meet you soon at one of our forthcoming events, please see our events page.
